What do we do at Book Club?
- Book Club members meet-up for 30 mins to chat about that month's book. The idea is to finish the book before our meeting so that we can discuss it without being worried about spoilers. However it is not an issue if they don't finish they can still contribute and often it gives someone motivation to keep going.
- I lead the discussion and guide Book Clubbers - we want to encourage young readers to be thinkers, but are keen to ensure our meetings fun!
- Note If you have a reluctant reader no one is going to know if you read it together - they can come and discuss their thoughts.
What do we get with each ticket?
- 2 fantastic new titles to read before each meeting!
- Plus a spot at the Book Club table (numbers are limited)
How much are the tickets?
- $40
What Age do you recommend?
- The books chosen are recommended for age 6-9
What book are you reading next?
The Paris Olympic Games are taking place from Friday 26th July until 11th August so we thought a timetravel adventure back to the first Olympic Games would be appropriate, especially as the Timekeepers series offers an introdution to history in a way that blends a fun story with real facts.
The Timekeepers are a secret organisation of kids who keep the course of history on track - and history needs them - a villain called DeLay is set on causing chaos! When the hands on their special watches start to spin backwards, the Time Keepers know that DeLay has been up to no good, and it's up to them to put things right...
In this instalment, the Timekeepers are tipped off that the Time Pirate DeLay is planning on sabotaging the first Olympic Games, and are whisked back to Ancient Greece to put a stop to his plans
